What is a Halal Certificate and How to Obtain it?
Halal certificate is a certificate that certifies that a product is produced in accordance with Islamic conditions and that halal conditions are met in the business. Halal certificate is generally issued for consumer products such as food, cosmetics, medicine and textiles.

 

Halal certification was developed to ensure that Muslim consumers have the right to consume halal and healthy products. Halal certification requires that the materials and processes used in the production process of the product are halal and that the production facility is designed in accordance with the halal conditions.

What is Halal Food?

Halal food is food produced and processed in accordance with Islamic conditions. Halal food is produced in accordance with Islamic regulations, stored under halal conditions and processed in a halal manner. In Islam, consuming halal food is important and this issue is a religious obligation.

 

Halal food must comply with the rules regarding the consumption of haram (forbidden) foods determined in the Islamic religion. For example, some foods such as pork, alcohol, blood and blood products, and some practices performed before the death of animals are considered haram in Islam and are prohibited from consumption. However, the materials and processes used in the production of halal foods must be halal.

 

Halal food certificate is a document showing that a product is produced under halal conditions and processed using halal methods. Halal food certification is carried out according to international standards and is accepted by many countries.


Halal Food Certificate Documentation Requirements
To obtain a halal certificate, businesses must meet certain documentation requirements. These conditions are necessary to prove that the products are produced under halal conditions and comply with Islamic conditions. Documentation requirements include:

 

Material documents: The business must certify that all the materials used in its production are halal. Therefore, the business is required to keep copies of halal certificates from material suppliers.
Business certificates: The business must have the necessary certificates to obtain the certificate. These certificates prove that the business operates in accordance with Islamic conditions.
Audit reports: The business must be successful in the audits carried out by halal certification bodies. Audit reports document that the business produces under halal conditions.
Production procedures: The production procedures of the business must be documented. These procedures show that production is carried out in accordance with Islamic conditions and halal products are produced separately from haram products.
Product documentation: The business must certify that all products used in production are halal. Therefore, the business is required to keep copies of halal certificates from product suppliers.
Staff training documentation: The business must document that its staff has been trained in the production and processing of halal products. Staff training documents show that the staff has received certificates certifying that they work under halal conditions and that the products are halal.
The above documentation requirements are some basic requirements that the business must meet in order to obtain a halal certificate. The business must meet all of these requirements before applying to the halal certification body.
